Starting October 8, 2025, the Bourse de Commerce will host a major exhibition dedicated to minimalist art, showcasing more than a hundred major works illustrating the diversity of this movement since the 1960s, when a whole generation of artists initiated a radical approach to art. Alongside masterpieces from the Pinault Collection, loans from prestigious collections underscore the historical importance and international resonance of the themes addressed in this exhibition.
Following the seven thematic sections of the exhibition – "Light", "Mono-ha", "Grid", "Monochrome", "Balance", "Surface", "Materialism" – the "Minimal" catalog traces the diversity of the works gathered, coming from North America (Agnes Martin, Dan Flavin, Robert Ryman, etc.), South America (Lygia Pape), Asia (Lee Ufan, Nobuo Sekine, Kishio Suga, etc.), Middle East (Rasheed Araeen), and Europe (Gunther Uecker, François Morellet, etc.), based on an exceptional collection of works from the Pinault Collection and loans from the Dia Art Foundation and other private and public collections.
In addition to a preface by Emma Lavigne and an introduction by Jessica Morgan, the catalog includes artists’ focus (Meg Webster, Lygia Pape, On Kawara, Robert Ryman, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Agnes Martin and Charlotte Posenenske) and notes highlighting the reproduced works.
