Nikolaus Gansterer & Klaus Speidel
In Playing with Ludwig. Figures of Thinking, artist Nikolaus Gansterer and philosopher Klaus Speidel address fundamental questions of sense-making in language and visual forms. In a playful dialogue with the writings of Ludwig Wittgenstein, they tackle subjects like pain and pictures, colour and imagination, death and the materiality of language.
The exhibition "Ghada Amer" is the first retrospective of the artist in France. Born in Cairo in 1963, Ghada Amer moved to Nice in 1974 with her parents. Some ten years later, she studied at the Villa Arson before joining the Institut des hautes études en arts plastiques in Paris.
Anri Sala's series Untitled (Maps/Species, 2018-2022) consists of diptychs which create a dialogue between an an eighteenth-century zoological engraving with an ink and pastel drawing by the artist.
