Dilecta is pleased to present this new art box set, with numbered certificate of authenticity, the fourth opus in the L'Histoire par le menu collection, dedicated to the official 1855 classification of Bordeaux wines.

The boxed set will be available from the end of October 2025.

The official 1855 classification of Bordeaux wines has established itself over time as a brand in its own right, representing the excellence of Bordeaux wines. We only need to mention the names of the red premiers crus: Château Lafite Rothschild, Château Latour, Château Margaux, Château Mouton Rothschild, Château Haut-Brion and the premier cru supérieur blanc: Château d'Yquem.

The 1855 classification, the subject of the latest opus in the “L'Histoire par le menu” collection, is an invitation to take a journey through eighty-eight of Bordeaux's finest vineyard sites, illustrated by some of the most emblematic and rare menus in Jean-Maurice Sacré's collection, accompanied by an enlightening text by historian Guillaume Picon and “portraits” of châteaux by author and wine expert Gabrielle Vizzavona. Also with contributions by Joachim Charles Napoléon Murat, Aymeric de Clouet and François Audouze.

The book also contains six previously unpublished black-stone drawings by painter Philippe Cognée, ans six prints of the same series of drawings, providing a mineral counterpoint to the six premier crus classés and the millennia-old terroirs from which they originate.

The edition is limited to 400 numbered copies. All components of the edition are made in France by Manufacture d'histoire Deux-Ponts, founded in 1935. Each box is upholstered in full canvas, with hot stamping of the title. The boxed set, with certificate of authenticity, includes a 400-page hardcover book and six offprints on creative paper reproducing the unpublished drawings specially created by Philippe Cognée.
