Gauthier

Alice Gauthier

Born in Paris in 1989, Alice Gauthier lives and works in Gentilly. She is graduated in 2014 from the Royal College of Art, Fine Arts section, in London, after receiving honors from the jury for her DNAP from the École Nationale des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg in 2012.

Alice Gauthier creates through three mediums: drawing, engraving, and painting. She seeks to make the viewer feel the primordial and indissoluble link that binds them to the universe. She is irrevocably attracted to where it all began (water, earth, air). She creates poetic and dreamlike landscapes and worlds by blending different liquids (gouache, ink, watercolor, etc.) that merge and crystallize on the paper, creating fascinating textural effects.

Her work has been presented in solo exhibitions in Paris (Sabine Bayasli Gallery, Atelier Bergère, Maison des Arts de Châtillon, Conscious) and in numerous group exhibitions in France and internationally (Seoul). She has recently been included in the collections of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and the National Library of France.

In 2025, she was notably recognized at Drawing Now (selected as a favorite by architect and decorator Pierre Yovanovitch) and exhibited at the Issy Biennale (group exhibition) and at the Les Églises Art Center (solo exhibition entitled “Nous-Terre”). We are also dedicating our first exhibition to her at the gallery, entitled “L'Excès du réel” (The Excess of Reality), curated by Jean-Marc Dimanche.

Next spring, the artist will exhibit a series of watercolors on stone as part of an exhibition on the theme of water at the Abbaye de l'Escaladieu.

From April 9 to 12, Alice Gauthier's work will be presented at our booth at the Art Paris Art Fair at the Grand Palais (Paris).

  • « Perspectives »

Bringing together the work of four women artists we collaborate with, our after summer hanging will showcase two artworks per artist, and create a link between a large and small work for each for them. No specific curation, simply a play on scale and perspective and, above all, the pleasure to dive in their respective universe.

  • Paréidolie

At Paréidolie Fair, we'll be presenting the Indian ink work by Mircea Cantor. This body of work will echo the cultural richness of the city of Marseille with a series of "Masks" drawings - created in 2018 for the Musée de la Chasse - that resonate with their models, traditional zoomorphic masks from northern Romania. This presentation will be complemented by drawings evoking nature, a subject dear to the artist's heart.

We wish to promote the work of two young French artists. Mathilde Lestiboudois will present a set of previously unpublished drawings, with a surrealist atmosphere, constructed like dreamlike little theaters where time seems suspended. Also new, Alice Gauthier's drawings, a blend of gouache and watercolor, are inspired by the forms of living things, painting a poetic portrait of elements and souls.
