Jean Gfeller, born in 1996 in Switzerland, recently graduated from les Beaux-Arts de Nantes (France). He usually uses as a starting point images from the forum Reddit which he inserts into situations ranging from the absurd to the peculiar. His alienated figures, tinged with melancholy, are inspired by marginalized people, from the arsonist and the exhibitionist to the criminal. The figures appear as if frozen in periods and areas of latency. One may wonder whether the represented scenes foresee an impending doom or the beginning of a new start.
