Since 2020, the Association for the Conservation of the Domaine de Frapotel has been implementing a cultural program dedicated to architecture, landscape and design, bringing new life to the Villa Weil, designed by architect Jean Dubuisson in 1966. Today, the Domaine de Frapotel welcomes young designers in residency, and has opened its doors to students from three renowned schools for a three-year program between 2021 and 2024: the École Boulle ans the Écoles Nationales d'Architecture de Versailles and Paris Malaquais. Annual themes were chosen by the schools guided the work of the participating students. This Guest Schools program brought to life the first issue of the bilingual magazine Frapotel, created on the initiative of architects Gaëlle Lauriot-Prévost and Dominique Perrault.
This issue includes a text section featuring a carte blanche given to Benjamin Lafore / MBL architects and an interview conducted by art historian Frédéric Prot with the journal's authors. These contributions are accompanied by a number of images, grouped together in a central section offering a selection of the students' renderings, together with notes on the projects.
