Beginning in 2006, Fiac has been working in collaboration with the Louvre to present, in the heart of the Jardin des Tuileries, a show of outdoor art. The growing interest of galleries and artists, as well as the exceptional setting of the Jardin des Tuileries has allowed for them to support a myriad of great works.
With contributions from Jennifer Flay, Marie-Laure Bernadac, Henri Loyrette and Pierre Bonnaure
Since 2006, the Fiac and the Louvre Museum present, in the heart of the Jardin des Tuileries, a show of outdoor art. The growing interest of galleries and artists, as well as the exceptional setting of the Jardin des Tuileries, have brought together internationally renowned artists and modern creations combining installations, sculptures, performances or sound works that, interacting with the public, take shape between the ponds and lawns of the garden.
The retrospective celebrates the first five years of the project. More than 40 works are exhibited in the outdoor space and in the pages. The sculptures of Bruno Gironcoli, Tony Cragg and Franz West, the installations of Claude Lévêque and Mark Dion follow each other in succession in the garden. Each work is accompanied by an explanatory slide.
In addition to a text by Jennifer Flay, the artistic director of Fiac, the book contains contributions from Pierre Bonnaure, chief gardener of the Jardin des Tuileries, and Marie-Laure Bernadac of Henri Loyrette (musée du Louvre).
