Catalogue published on the occasion of the exhibition "L'île intérieure" organised at the Villa Carmignac, on the island of Porquerolles, until 5 November 2023.

In the beginning, there are landscapes and bodies, landscapes within bodies, a tangled web of situations of the kind that dreams are good at creating. It is hard to understand what constitutes interior or exterior. The eyes are now blinded by a solar light, now plunged into the darkness of the ocean’s depths or the heart of the night. One moon, two moons, three moons watch over worlds in which humans are often absent. Sea and mountain merge like the collisions of seasons. From time to time, animals and plants build empires and indulge in rituals. Within this inner island, the eye is invited to roam and lead the rest of the body along for the ride.
