Born in 1989, Caroline Corbasson lives and works in Paris. A graduate of the École nationale des beaux-arts in Paris and Central Saint Martins in London, Caroline Corbasson's practice extends to drawing, sculpture, photography and video. She explores man's place in the universe through the prism of scientific and collective imaginations associated with astrophysics and cosmology. Her collaborations with major scientific institutions (CNRS; CNES in Paris; Cerro Paranal Observatory in Chile) enable her to immerse herself in the daily life of these high places of scientific study, capturing their singular atmosphere and opening up to the multiple connections between perception, scale, space and time.
Recently, she was awarded the Mondes Nouveaux prize by the French Ministry of Culture for her film Isaac (2023). She has also exhibited in France and internationally at institutions such as Centre Pompidou, Paris; Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead; Song-Won Art Center, Seoul; Crac, Sète; Panacée Moco, Montpellier; Frac Sud, Marseille; Cité des sciences et de l'industrie, Paris; EPFL Pavilions, Lausanne.
In 2024, his work was featured in the group show “Prendre le Soleil” at Hangar Y, and in the group show “Van Gogh et les Étoiles” at the Fondation Vincent Van Gogh in Arles, curated by Jean de Loisy and Bice Curiger.
Caroline Corbasson is the winner of the Prix Art et Environnement 2024, awarded jointly by Lee Ufan Arles and Maison Guerlain. As such, she will benefit from a production residency in Arles, which will give rise to a solo exhibition entitled “Smothing Moves” at Lee Ufan Arles from July 7 to October 5, 2025. Currently and in the near future, his work is featured in several group exhibitions, including “Par Quatre Chemins, Points de vue sur la scène actuelle”, Château La Coste (Provence) until June 9, 2025; “Vertigo”, Villa Carmignac (Porquerolles Island) from April 26 to November 2, 2025 and “Lire le ciel. Sous les étoiles en Méditérannée”, MUCEM (Marseille) from July 9, 2025 to January 5, 2026. In 2026, a major work will be presented in a group show at the Musée de l'air et de l'Espace (La Bourget).
A solo exhibition will be dedicated to him in our gallery space in the second half of 2025.
