Edgar Sarin is a sculptor and he worked with strong, natural, organic and beautiful matters such as wood, stone, clay, ceramics, pigment and here Marseille's Soap. He like working in dialogue with civilisation and he mixed them in powerful pieces. He was the winner of the Emerige Revelation prices in 2016 and two majors of his sculptures have been purchased by the Centre Pompidou - National Museum of Modern art in Paris (France). And as Jean-Pierre Criqui (Curator at the Contemporary Collections Department, Center Pompidou, National Museum of Modern Art ) wrote about his work : "Attached both to artisanal methods of manufacture and to a simplified formal vocabulary connoting minimalism and arte povera, Sarin works from the perspective of a kind of imaginary folklore in which morphological elements, techniques and apparently very distant eras intersect. It is in the reuniting and reformulation of this apparent disparity, which also occasionally blends Michelangelo and Ikea furniture, that his strength and originality lie."
