Mircea Suciu, born in 1978 in Baia Mare (Romania), studied painting and is currently teaching at the Cluj Art School (Romania). Mircea Suciu, fascinated by History and the sometimes-irrational behavior of human beings, establishes types of social criticisms, using heterogeneous sources (history of art and more specifically European painting, contemporary photography, advertising, etc.), which he manifests in his artworks by ironic postures in somber, almost solemn, settings and atmospheres. By combining pictorial techniques (acrylic, oil) and monotype, Mircea Suciu approaches light and composition in ways that are characteristic of photography.
