Buren

Born in Boulogne-Billancourt in 1938, Daniel Buren is an internationally renowned French painter and sculptor. He has won several awards, including the Golden Lion for best pavilion (Venice Biennale, 1986), the International Award for Best Artist (Stuttgart, 1991) and the prestigious Praemium Imperiale for painting (Tokyo, 2007). He has produced several world-famous installations, including Les Deux Plateaux (1985) in the main courtyard of the Palais-Royal, Paris.
