Laura Lamiel was born in 1943 in Morlaix. She lives and works near Paris. For over forty years, she has been developing a body of work that explores various perceptual, mental, and emotional states by assembling and creating tension between found objects and raw materials, colors, and light. Seeking dizzying gaps between vocabularies of form, her works explore, with sensitivity and sensuality, the interval between the intimate and the social, the existential and the everyday.

In the drawing Territoire intime (2021-21), “[t]wo hands intertwine. One, in red ink, surrenders itself to the palm of the other, drawn in pencil. The gesture seals a bond — perhaps a silent alliance, a support, or a restraint. The red, fluid, almost organic, seems to spread like an inner warmth, while the pencil, more discreet, outlines and gathers. One appears vulnerable, as if constricted; the other, more stable, welcomes, holds, soothes. In Laura Lamiel’s practice, drawing explores the very conditions of the mark — pressure, contact, repetition. Here, ink and pencil do not merely reveal hands: they make perceptible the intensity of the gesture and the fragility of the bond it establishes.”
(Excerpt from Alexandra Bordes’ text on Laura Lamiel’s work).

The limited edition of the same name is produced from the original work as part of a collaboration between Éditions Dilecta and Pinault Collection for the solo exhibition of the artist, ça fait un bruit d'ailes, de feuilles, de sable, in the Passage of the Bourse de Commerce, until September 21th, 2026.
