Paris Photo 2024
Somewhere between a documentary approach and a sensitive quest, the artist is interested in natural elements that are so vast or so small in space and time that they baffle our understanding.
The works presented here bear witness to the artist's recent formal research, weaving multiple correspondences between the infinitely large and the infinitely small, between plant and mineral.
The images in the Field(s) series result from the observation of primitive dust, collected in deserts, by the ultra-technological eye of the electron microscope, and reconnect with matter by means of charcoal printing. In Tracks, Caroline Corbasson joins forces with photographer Andrea Montano to fuse astrophysics and botany. Passed under black light, flower petals are adorned with phosphorescent spots linked to pollination, but which, through the lens, become constellations.
Exhibition produced with the support of the galleries of the Centre National des Arts Plastiques (CNAP).
