In a dialogue between painting, photography and digital art, Jean Gfeller finds inspirations by collecting images from the Reddit forum (a discreet social network that proposes to delve into everything that exists, without censorship). He turns these random pictures into absurd and strange situations. The isolated figures, often with melancholic accents, are inspired by people with marginal behaviors, from the arsonist to the exhibitionist and the criminal. They evolve in spaces organized by flat tints of color and few perspectives. The depicted scenes transform the ordinary: they appear to be familiar while existing outside of a specific time and space.
